August & September Inspiration

Staithes Festival of Arts and Heritage

If you enjoy camping, I can recommend Herding Hill Farm Campsite near Haltwhistle where we stayed in one of their pods. It is an excellent base for exploring Hadrian’s Wall.

I went along to a couple of talks at the Ryedale Film & Photo Festival, including one by Alwyn Craven from Forest of Flowers, a 74-acre woodland and wildflower meadow, on the outskirts of York which looks like a gorgeous place to visit. The team run tours and workshops throughout the year.

If you are visiting Runswick Bay, I can recommend the food - and sea views - at The Royal, which is the pub down in the old village.

I am looking forward to the Staithes Festival of Arts and Heritage over the weekend of 11th-13th September where artists throw open their homes and studios to showcase their work
