Eden Dock, Canary Wharf, London

If you are in London and fancy a swim, do check out the gin-clear waters of Eden Dock (Middle Dock), Canary Wharf, a green waterfront oasis with floating pontoons, marine habitats and aquatic islands created with the Eden Project. Opens June. One for my next trip.

I thought this new pop up sauna from Wild Feather Wellness at Yolk Farm Shop, Boroughbridge, looked enticing. With gourmet pizza afterwards, what’s not to like?

I read this BBC article about why could saunas be the new pub? They are a sober way of getting together without the hangover the next day!

Helmsley Open Air Pool has re-opened for the season. If you don’t know this lovely lido, I highly recommend a visit. The Yorkshire Hut Co have built a sauna there too. Also check out Ilkley Lido (unheated), which re-opens for summer soon. Both pools run regular events such as full moon swims and sound baths.

If you’re looking for a book recommendation, I recently finished When the Cranes Fly South by Lisa Rizden. The book is translated from Swedish (where it was a huge hit) and tells the story of an elderly man’s fight to maintain his independence. It is poignant meditation on mortality, love and family. I loved it.
